Mary Kathleen Turner (June 19, 1954) is an American film and stage actress and director, born in Springfield, Missouri.
Her most popular movies are Body Heat, The Man with Two Brains, Crimes of Passion, Romancing the Stone, and Prizzi’s Honor.
Kathleen Turner has been nominated for an Oscar as a Best Actress in a Leading Role for the movie Peggy Sue Got Married (lost to Marlee Matlin) and won two Golden Globes.
She is also known for her guest star appearences in such TV shows as Friends, Californication, and others.
Turner also has worked in the theatre, and has been nominated for the Tony Award twice for her Broadway roles as Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and as Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
