Julie Frances Christie (14 April 1940) is a British actress, born in Chabua, Assam, British India.

She is an Academy Award winner (Darling), a Golden Globe Award (Away from Her), a BAFTA Award (Darling), and a Screen Actors Guild Award (Away from Her) and an unofficial icon of the “swinging London” era (1960s).

Christie also starred in such movies as Billy Liar, Doctor Zhivago, Fahrenheit 451, Far from the Madding Crowd, Petulia, The Go-Between, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, Don’t Look Now, Shampoo, Heaven Can Wait, Troy, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and others. All in all She has appeared in six films that were ranked by the BFI as the 100 greatest British films of the 20th century, and received BAFTA fellowship in 1997.

Julie Christie is married to The Guardian journalist Duncan Campbell.
