James Broadbent (May 24, 1949) is an English actor, born in Holton cum Beckering, Lincolnshire.
He won an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award as the best supporting actor in the feature film Iris. Broadbent also won a BAFTA TV Award and a Golden Globe as a leading actor for TV movie Longford, and won BAFTA Film Award for his performance in Moulin Rouge!. He was also nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and four SAG Awards.
James Broadbent played Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter film series and joined the cast of hit TV fantasy series Game of Thrones, as the Archmaester Ebrose, in the seventh season.
