Imelda Mary Philomena Bernadette Staunton (9 January 1956) is an English actress, born in Archway, London.

Staunton has won four Olivier Awards (while being nominated for 13); three for Best Actress in a Musical for her roles in Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd and Gypsy, and one for Best Supporting Performance for her work in A Chorus of Disapproval and The Corn is Green.

She drew critical acclaim for her performance in the title role in the movie Vera Drake, for which she won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and the Venice Film Festival Volpi Cup for Best Actress in addition to being nominated for the Academy Award, the Golden Globe and the SAG Award for Best Actress.

Imelda Staunton portrays Dolores Jane Umbridge in the Harry Potter movie series.
