Anna Hélène Paquin (July 24, 1982) is a New Zealand-Canadian actress, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
As she was a child her parents moved to New Zealand, so most part of her childhood Anna have spent in Wellington, New Zealand.
As a child, she played the role of Flora McGrath in Jane Campion’s romantic drama film The Piano. For that performance she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11. Up to date she is the second-youngest winner in Oscar history.
Paquin starred in movies Fly Away Home, The Member of the Wedding, A Walk on the Moon, Almost Famous, movies of the X-Men franchise, and others. She might be best known as Sookie Stackhouse in the HBO vampire drama television series True Blood. Her performance brought her the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama in 2009, and additional nomination in 2010. She also won three Saturn Awards and a SAG Award.
Her latest projects include The Irishman (latest movie by Martin Scorsese).
Anna Paquin is married to her True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer since 2010.
