Musical influence and style
Attitude to work

Dre has repeatedly argued that he was a perfectionist, and requires the full devotion of musicians. In 2006, Snoop Dogg gave an interview to the site where he said that one day Dre made overwrite singer of the vocal song 107 times. Yang also said that Eminem is also a perfectionist and his success on Aftermath held by this.

The consequence of this perfectionism – that some musicians who originally signed a deal with the label Dre never release albums. In 2001, Aftermath released the soundtrack to The Wash. In his notes taken such rappers as: Shaunta, Daks, Joe Beast and Toi. To date, none of these musicians has not released a full length album. Nevertheless, cooperation with the Aftermath not broken.

However, all get a chance to express themselves. While Dre worked on Death Row records, his stepbrother Warren G and Tha Dogg Pound did a lot of compilations for the first album Young – The Chronic and for their debut album Snoop Dogg’a Doggystyle.

One day, Scott Storch, a Canadian producer of the famous work on their second album in 2001 Dre said in an interview with Rolling Stone: When I first saw Dre, I thought that he needed something. He needed a push, fuel injection, he used me as nitrous oxide. He has engaged me in a new combination, where the sound of the piano holistically integrated into the overall mood. So I was on the keyboard, Mike Elizondo on bass and Dre himself on a drum machine.

In November 2003, in an article in the magazine The Source group of former partners on the label Dre complained they did not receive enough money for the work. Produced by Neff-U claimed that he worked on the songs «Say What You Say» and «My Dad’s Gone Crazy» from the album The Eminem Show, as well as bonus tracks «If I Can not» and «Back Down» of Get Rich or Die Tryin ‘.

While Snoop Dogg and has a business relationship with Warren G and Daz, which are not considered participants in the production of The Chronic, Dre that is capable of doing bits without any help. It should be noted that prominent members of the studio Aftermath, including Scott Storch, Elizondo, Mark Batson and Devon Parker, were mentioned in the co-produced records and instrumentals where Dre acts as a producer.

It is also widely recognized that most lyrics Dre written for him by others, although it retains ultimate control over the lyrics and theme songs. With regard to this, one of the producers said in an interview Aftermath Scratch: It’s like a school class. He’s got three students who write to him. And he was as a teacher says “Change this line, change the word”. That’s the way it checks the lyrics.
