An iconic figure in black and white horror Boris Karloff (born William Henry Pratt) was born in England, the son of a diplomat, but the tendency to follow his father experienced.

Karloff immigrated to Canada and as part of the small theater troupes traveled all over North America. In the film debuted in 1916 in the movie “Dumb Girl of Portici” (Dumb Girl of Portici), where the main role was played by Anna Pavlova. The last years of his life the actor was suffering from respiratory diseases, and often had to resort to using an oxygen mask directly on the set. In memory of fans he will always be Frankenstein’s monster and the Mummy, a reference screen monster, but do not forget that in real life Karloff was a true gentleman, soft, tactful, considerate man.
