Barbara Stanwyck (born Ruby Catherine Stevens) was born on July 16, 1907 in New York, in the United States. She was the younger sister of five children who were brought up in the family. In 1910, the year of her mother, Catherine McGee, died after a drunken passerby pushed her under the wheels of a tram.
