Amel Bachir, best known as Amel Bent (June 21, 1985) is a French singer, born in La Courneuve, France.

She gained fame as a participant of the French music competition show Nouvelle Star (french equivavalent for American Idol). She starred in the second season of the show and was eliminated in the semi-finals. Later she became one of the most notable artists who participated in the show, becoming “Nouvelle Star” best selling artist.

Since the beginning of her career Amel Bent has recorded 5 studio albums. She also won several awards, including European Border Breakers Award of The Best French Award and Victoires de la Musique of The Revelation of the Year.
